About the Role
Pharmarun is a dynamic team of pharmacists, engineers, and problem-solvers dedicated to revolutionizing access to authentic medication in Nigeria. We are currently looking for a talented and driven Scrum Master to join our engineering organization, champion Agile best practices, and help us scale our innovative digital health solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure the backlog is thoroughly refined and sprint-ready.
- Verify that user stories feature sufficient requirements and clear acceptance criteria prior to sprint entry.
- Facilitate estimation and capacity planning sessions with the engineering team.
- Track sprint commitments against actual delivery and proactively identify and remove blockers affecting engineers.
- Manage cross-functional dependencies across Product, Engineering, and external teams.
- Minimize repeated sprint spillovers and unfinished work by optimizing team workflow.
- Track key engineering delivery metrics such as velocity, cycle time, sprint completion rate, and blocker resolution time.
- Maintain accurate delivery visibility and project tracking using Jira or similar Agile project management tools.
- Drive actionable process improvements derived from continuous and engaging retrospectives.
- Establish a predictable, sustainable, and high-performing software delivery cadence.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with substantial hands-on experience working directly with software development teams.
- Proven track record of serving as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Agile Delivery Lead for software engineers.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from requirements gathering to release.
- Deep knowledge of Agile concepts including backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, story points, velocity, and technical debt.
- High proficiency with Jira and other standard engineering delivery and collaboration tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to hold Product and Engineering teams accountable without being their line manager.
- Analytical mindset capable of distinguishing between Agile process issues, requirements gaps, and capacity constraints.
- Data-driven approach to troubleshooting delivery bottlenecks rather than relying on unnecessary meetings.
