About the Role
St. Columbanus Secondary School (SCOSSI) is a prominent co-educational Catholic mission boarding school located in Ikwen, Obot Akara Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. Founded in 1959 and operating under the Catholic Diocese of Ikot Ekpene, we are dedicated to academic excellence and moral formation. We are currently seeking a reliable, skilled, and dedicated School Technician and Electrician to ensure the seamless operation of our campus infrastructure and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures across the school campus.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults, power outages, and technical malfunctions promptly.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on school generators, water pumps, lighting systems, and laboratory equipment.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with safety standards and local regulations to protect students and staff.
- Respond swiftly to emergency maintenance requests from boarding hostels, classrooms, and administrative offices.
- Collaborate with the facility management team to execute infrastructure upgrade projects and minor constructions.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of electrical tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
- Minimum of OND, Trade Test Certificate, or City and Guilds in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
- Proven professional experience as an Electrician or School Technician, preferably within an educational or residential facility.
- Strong working knowledge of wiring diagrams, electrical codes, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently, diagnose complex technical issues, and execute effective repairs.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work responsibly within a mission school environment.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Akwa Ibom State.
