About the Role
Taqwa Private Schools, a premier co-educational Arabic, English, and French-speaking institution located in Ifako-Ijaiye, Agege, Lagos, is seeking a compassionate and qualified School Nurse / Infirmary Officer. Operating across day and boarding facilities, our institution is committed to holistic education and top-tier student welfare. The School Nurse will provide immediate first aid, emergency medical care, and ongoing health management for pupils and staff, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Administer immediate first aid, treatment, and emergency management for injuries, illnesses, and sudden health incidents on school premises.
- Safely manage and administer prescribed medications to pupils following strict parental consent and dosage guidelines.
- Manage sick bay operations efficiently, adhering to structured shift systems to ensure continuous nursing coverage.
- Maintain accurate, confidential health logs, treatment records, and promptly communicate with parents regarding student health issues.
- Monitor medical inventories, ensure timely restocking of pharmaceuticals, and maintain high standards of hygiene and infection control.
- Advise school management on health and safety matters, including outbreak prevention, sanitation, and routine health screenings.
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM) with a valid practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of clinical experience, ideally in paediatrics, school nursing, emergency care, or community health.
- Physical readiness and willingness to work structured shift rotations as required by the school administration.
