We are currently seeking a passionate and organized School Librarian to join our educational client's team in Ipaja, Lagos. In this role, you will curate and manage learning resources, maintain an engaging and orderly environment, and inspire students to cultivate lifelong reading and research habits.
Key Responsibilities- Organize, classify, catalogue, and maintain books, digital media, and other library resources efficiently.
- Ensure the library environment remains clean, orderly, quiet, safe, and conducive to learning.
- Issue and receive library materials while maintaining accurate borrowing and return records.
- Follow up promptly on overdue or missing books to secure school inventory.
- Help students and teachers locate appropriate books, references, and learning resources for subjects and projects.
- Encourage regular reading, independent learning, and effective information-searching skills among students.
- Collaborate with academic staff to align library acquisitions with curriculum needs.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory and prepare periodic reports on library usage and acquisitions.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Library & Information Technology or Library Science.
- Strong organizational, cataloguing, and record-keeping abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with students and teachers.
