We are currently seeking a compassionate and qualified School Counsellor to join our vibrant academic community. This role is specifically open to candidates residing within Abijo, Awoyaya, and the broader Lekki-Epe environment. As a key member of our pastoral and academic support team, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safe, supportive, and confidential environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to students facing academic, social, emotional, behavioural, or interpersonal challenges.
  • Create a safe, confidential, and empathetic space for students to discuss personal and academic concerns freely.
  • Guide students in developing healthy coping mechanisms, strong decision-making skills, self-awareness, and personal resilience.
  • Maintain strict professional boundaries and confidentiality in all interactions with students, parents, and staff.
  • Liaise with teachers and school leadership to identify students requiring specialized intervention or monitoring.
  • Refer students to external healthcare professionals, therapists, or specialised support services when their needs exceed internal school provisions.
  • Organize workshops and guidance programs focused on mental health, career readiness, and personal development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Guidance and Counselling, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a school counsellor in a reputable educational setting.
  • Deep understanding of child and adolescent development, modern psychological theories, and educational psychology.
  • Exceptional active listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Valid residency within Abijo, Awoyaya, Lekki-Epe, or immediate environs.
  • Relevant professional certifications or memberships with recognized counselling bodies will be an added advantage.
