About the Role
Discovering Talents Academy (DTA) offers first-class education from Preschool to Primary levels, utilizing a blended Nigerian-Montessori and British curriculum. We are currently seeking a responsible and experienced School Bus Driver to join our dedicated operations team. In this vital role, you will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient daily transportation of our pupils and staff, maintaining our high standards of safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Operate school vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering strictly to traffic laws, road safety rules, and a maximum speed limit of 60 km/h in residential areas.
- Conduct morning pick-ups and afternoon drop-offs along designated routes while assisting pupils in safely boarding and alighting.
- Collaborate with the Bus Attendant to monitor student behavior and maintain an orderly environment during transit.
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections, including fluid levels, tire pressure, lighting systems, and door functionality.
- Maintain daily cleanliness of the vehicle interior and exterior, and report mechanical faults immediately.
- Ensure proper vehicle security, documentation compliance, and timely fueling and servicing.
- Minimum of a Secondary School Leaving Certificate.
- Valid and current professional driver's license.
- 3 to 5 years of proven professional driving experience, preferably within a school or reputable passenger transport setting.
- Thorough knowledge of local traffic laws, road safety regulations, and basic vehicle maintenance.
- Exceptional patience, punctuality, and a calm demeanor when interacting with children.
- Good communication skills in the English language.
