About the Role
Jumia is Nigeria's number one online shopping destination, offering a wide range of electronics, fashion, home appliances, and more with convenient payment options including cash on delivery. We are currently looking for a results-driven Last Mile Team Lead to oversee our door delivery operations in Port Harcourt, ensuring timely service and top-tier team performance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise a team of Last Mile Delivery Operators to guarantee accurate and timely execution of door delivery operations.
- Assign daily delivery tasks and optimize routes based on workload, priorities, and customer requirements.
- Monitor driver-customer communication and promote a consistently positive delivery experience.
- Coach, train, and develop delivery associates to enhance day-to-day productivity and foster continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and track key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, and closed success rate.
- Promote strict adherence to road safety and risk mitigation practices among all delivery personnel.
- Coordinate with Warehouse Operations, Network, and Customer Service teams to swiftly resolve delivery exceptions and escalations.
- Ensure full compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and internal company policies while maintaining accurate operational records.
- Proven experience in logistics operations, transportation, or last-mile delivery services with a demonstrated background in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and motivate a dynamic team.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to handle fast-paced operational challenges.
- Proficiency in utilizing technology tools for route planning, GPS tracking, and operational reporting.
- Mandatory possession of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Certificate or a valid exemption letter.
- Must be currently based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
