About the Role
Caring Habitat is a premier 40-bed rehabilitation center dedicated to helping patients transition from dependent to independent living. We are currently seeking a skilled and professional Driver to join our team at our facility located near Abraham Adesanya, Lagos. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe, secure, and timely transportation of patients, staff, and essential goods using company vehicles, including cars and ambulances. We are looking for someone with exceptional driving skills, a thorough understanding of traffic laws, and a deep commitment to providing compassionate and reliable service in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicles, including cars and ambulances, adhering to all traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Plan and navigate the most efficient routes using GPS tools to ensure timely arrivals, taking Lagos traffic and road conditions into account.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to guarantee vehicles remain in optimal working condition.
- Promptly report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Ensure the interior and exterior cleanliness of assigned company vehicles at all times.
- Assist patients with boarding and exiting vehicles, and help with loading and unloading equipment or supplies as needed.
- Maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful demeanor toward patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Minimum of a Primary School Leaving Certificate or SSCE.
- Possession of a valid, current Driver’s License.
- At least 4 to 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably within the healthcare or corporate sector.
- Extensive knowledge of the Lagos road network and proficiency in using Google Maps or similar navigation tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of road signs, safety precautions, and Lagos State traffic laws.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with a patient, empathetic approach.
- Must reside within Lekki, Ajah, Abraham Adesanya, or surrounding environs for prompt commute.
