About the Role
BethâNeills Playhouse & Preschool is seeking a competent and detail-oriented School Accountant to join our dynamic team in Calabar, Cross River State. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Executive Officer Lucy O'Neill, our institution is committed to delivering exceptional early childhood education within a faith-based framework. As our School Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our organization while supporting our mission to empower children to learn, play, and develop at their individual paces.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee all school financial accounts and records
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports
- Process invoices, payroll, and vendor payments
- Monitor budget allocations and expenditure tracking
- Conduct regular reconciliation of accounts and bank statements
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and institutional policies
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to school management
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial information
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Accounting or Finance
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) with accounting specialization, or
- National Certificate of Education (NCE) in accounting-related field
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
