About the Role
Odengene Air Shuttle Services Limited (OAS), a leading NCAA-licensed aviation company, is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to provide independent safety leadership, assurance, and risk-management oversight. Operating within offshore oil and gas helicopter environments, you will ensure our operations strictly adhere to Nig CARS, ICAO Annex 19, and IOGP standards while interfacing with regulatory authorities such as the NCAA.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and integration of the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Facilitate hazard identification, safety risk analysis, and monitor the effectiveness of safety risk controls.
- Monitor the organization's safety culture and ensure effective safety promotion and personnel training.
- Report SMS performance and improvement requirements directly to the Accountable Executive.
- Conduct thorough incident investigations using methodologies like HFCAS to identify root causes and mitigations.
- Coordinate the organization's Emergency Response Plan and facilitate the Management of Change process.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager during the Hazard and Effect Management Process (HEMP).
- Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant aviation experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to aviation safety/SMS in commercial helicopter operations.
- Recognized professional safety qualification such as a NEBOSH International Diploma, IOSH membership, or specialized ICAO/SMS training.
