About the Role
Almond Healthcare Services Limited is seeking an energetic, disciplined, and proactive Male Runner to join our dynamic dining operations team. In this role, you will act as the crucial link between the kitchen and the dining floor, ensuring that food orders are delivered to guest tables swiftly, accurately, and at the perfect serving temperature while upholding the highest standards of hospitality in Abuja.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate seamlessly with the Head Chef, Expo, Head Waiter, and floor waitstaff to retrieve completed dishes from the kitchen pass and deliver them to correct guest tables without delay.
- Serve dishes accurately according to seat numbers and luxury service protocols, maintaining proper plate placement, temperature standards, and presentation.
- Verify every order against kitchen display systems or tickets before leaving the kitchen to ensure accuracy, special request compliance, and complete order fulfillment.
- Assist waitstaff with pre-service preparation and side-station stocking, maintaining a continuous supply of polished cutlery, water carafes, clean trays, and linens.
- Assist in clearing empty plates, glassware, and silver utensils from tables promptly and quietly, keeping dining areas clean and uncluttered.
- Maintain a pristine and safe dining environment by wiping down service stations, clearing food debris, and ensuring any floor spills are dried immediately to eliminate hazards.
- Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures regarding guest dietary restrictions and severe food allergies, ensuring clear verification with kitchen staff prior to serving.
- Minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) / WAEC / NECO.
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Food Runner, Commis Waiter, or Busser in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or fine dining establishment.
- Must reside within or in close proximity to the Maitama area, Abuja for shift flexibility and easy commuting.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including both day and night rotations.
- Exceptional physical stamina, agility, and pace with the ability to carry heavy trays and stand continuously throughout high-volume service hours.
- Good understanding of culinary items, table numbering systems, and basic food allergy safety procedures alongside clear verbal communication skills.
