About the Role
The Delta State Traffic Management Authority (DESTMA) is a dynamic government agency dedicated to controlling traffic congestion and maintaining optimal safety standards on roads throughout Delta State, Nigeria. We are recruiting qualified professionals to join our team as Road Traffic Officers, where you will contribute to developing efficient traffic management systems and enhancing road safety for all users.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and manage traffic flow on designated routes and highways
- Enforce traffic regulations and safety standards
- Conduct traffic awareness and public education programs
- Respond to traffic incidents and coordinate with emergency services
- Maintain accurate records and generate traffic management reports
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to improve road safety infrastructure
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc, B.Eng, or B.A Hons) in relevant disciplines including Transportation Management, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Criminology, Statistics, or related fields
- Be a Delta State indigene with valid local government area of origin documentation
- Age between 16 and 40 years
- Completed NYSC service or possess valid exemption certificate
- Computer literacy (mandatory for graduate positions)
- Valid medical report confirming physical and medical fitness
- Clean criminal record with no cult affiliations
- Excellent character references
- Female applicants who are pregnant must provide pregnancy test certificate from a Government Hospital
