We are currently looking for a strategic and analytical Risk Manager to join our dynamic team in Lagos, driving our commitment to robust corporate governance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As our Risk Manager, you will lead the identification, measurement, and mitigation of risks across the group while serving as a trusted advisor to executive management.

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management framework compliant with Nigerian regulatory standards.
  • Oversee operational, financial, strategic, and regulatory risk identification and reporting across all business units.
  • Conduct portfolio-level risk assessments, stress testing, and scenario analysis to evaluate impacts on capital and profitability.
  • Coordinate with Business Unit Leads to maintain updated risk registers and track closure of action plans.
  • Lead Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management, and Incident Management programs group-wide.
  • Provide independent risk insights and recommendations during Executive Management and Board Sub-Committee meetings.
Qualifications

To qualify for this exciting opportunity at VFD Group, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 5 years of dedicated risk management experience within the Nigerian financial services sector.
  • HND or Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related discipline, Economics, Accounting, or Engineering.
  • Possession of a Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications will be a strong added advantage.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, risk policies, and business continuity frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis tools, and financial databases.
