About the Role
Taghini Foods, a leading traditional poultry processing company based in Ibadan, is seeking a skilled and committed Resident Veterinary Doctor to join our dynamic agricultural team. In this pivotal role, you will provide day-to-day veterinary leadership and clinical oversight across our poultry farming operations, ensuring optimal flock health, welfare, productivity, stringent biosecurity, and uncompromised food safety standards as we supply fresh and frozen poultry products to wholesalers, caterers, and Halal customers.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily veterinary leadership and clinical oversight across all commercial poultry farming operations to guarantee optimal flock health and high productivity.
- Design, implement, and monitor comprehensive vaccination programs, disease prevention protocols, and emergency outbreak management strategies.
- Enforce and manage strict farm biosecurity measures and oversee the inventory control of medications, vaccines, and veterinary supplies.
- Monitor flock performance, growth metrics, and poultry welfare standards in alignment with industry best practices.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the poultry processing, food safety, and cold-chain teams to ensure regulatory compliance and wholesome product delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation and generate timely reports regarding mortality, morbidity, and overall flock health status.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVSc) degree from a recognized institution with a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on professional experience working as a Resident Veterinary Doctor or in a similar commercial poultry setting.
- Demonstrable expertise in managing broiler, breeder, or layer production flocks with a strong background in disease diagnosis and treatment.
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial poultry production, processing interfaces, and farm biosecurity protocols.
