About the Role
Control Risks is an independent, global risk consultancy specializing in political, integrity, and security risk. We help influential organizations navigate complex environments by providing strategic consultancy, expert analysis, and in-depth investigations. We are currently looking for a meticulous and driven Researcher specializing in Citizenship by Investment and Third-Party Due Diligence to join our Scaled Diligence Programmes team, assessing potential counterparties to protect our clients from reputational, legal, and financial risks.
Key Responsibilities- Execute enhanced due diligence assignments focusing on Citizenship by Investment (CBI), corporate compliance, ESG, and financial crime.
- Conduct thorough media and database research utilizing advanced search criteria and strict methodologies.
- Engage and liaise with in-country source networks to gather critical compliance-related intelligence beyond standard OSINT sources.
- Analyze and contextualize search results, identifying indirect connections and assessing residual risks.
- Distill complex findings into clear, concise, and professionally written reports under tight deadlines.
- Brief internal stakeholders on research outcomes and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional global teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
- Demonstrated passion for identifying indicators of money laundering, identity fraud, and financial crime.
- Familiarity with the commercial, legal, and integrity risk landscapes of regions such as sub-Saharan Africa, MENA, or Asia.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex topics with nuance.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and meet rigorous deadlines.
- Prior experience in online and human source intelligence gathering is a strong advantage.
