About the Role
Proten International is currently recruiting a skilled and analytical Engineering Geophysicist on behalf of our esteemed client in the engineering and geotechnical sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in conducting and supervising geophysical site investigations, foundation testing, and related activities to ensure successful project delivery across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and conduct site investigations, including Cone Penetration Tests (CPT) and Standard Penetration Tests (SPT).
- Conduct and oversee pile load tests and pile integrity tests, encompassing data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation.
- Analyse test results and ensure accurate interpretation of findings for critical engineering and project decisions.
- Sort, organise, and evaluate field data, technical information, and carry out lithological descriptions of ditch cuttings.
- Coordinate the mobilisation and delivery of required equipment, monitor equipment performance, and manage operational challenges on-site.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and relevant regulatory requirements throughout project lifecycles.
- Monitor project execution to guarantee high-quality delivery within approved budgets, timelines, and scope.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive periodic technical reports on ongoing and completed projects within stipulated timelines.
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Geophysics, Geosciences, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in engineering geophysics, geophysical investigations, or geotechnical projects.
- Demonstrated practical experience in conducting or supervising site investigations, specifically CPT and SPT.
- Proven expertise in pile load testing, pile integrity testing, and data interpretation.
- Strong understanding of basic engineering principles, lithological descriptions, and site safety practices.
- Excellent project coordination, analytical, data interpretation, and technical reporting abilities.
