About the Role
Jhpiego is seeking three dedicated Research Managers (Adhoc) to support the design, coordination, and implementation of the midline learning assessment for a major Quality Improvement (QI) Project. This important health initiative spans Jigawa, Gombe, and Ekiti States, focusing on HIV, Tuberculosis, Malaria, Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH), and primary healthcare services. One Research Manager will be assigned to each implementation state to lead local planning, data collection, mixed-methods analysis, and comprehensive report writing under the supervision of the project's Research and Learning Advisor.
Key Responsibilities- Support the review and refinement of the existing QI evaluation framework, learning questions, and indicator matrix in alignment with national priorities.
- Adapt and digitize qualitative and quantitative data collection tools on KoboCollect, ensuring robust mixed-methods evaluation design.
- Facilitate state-level Training of Trainers (ToTs) and data collector sessions, ensuring rigorous adherence to research ethics and data quality standards.
- Coordinate field implementation activities, stakeholder engagements, and logistics within the assigned state.
- Conduct rigorous quantitative data analysis using STATA, R, or SPSS and qualitative thematic analysis using NVivo or ATLAS.ti.
- Synthesize cross-state findings, draft evaluation reports, and translate field evidence into practical recommendations for health authorities.
- Master's Degree or higher in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Systems, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), or impact evaluation within the health sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing mixed-methods evaluations and working with large routine health datasets (DHIS2/HMIS).
- Familiarity with Quality Improvement methodologies and national health programs for TB, HIV, Malaria, and MNCH in Nigeria.
- Strong proficiency in statistical software (STATA, R, SPSS) and qualitative tools (NVivo, ATLAS.ti).
- Exceptional analytical, facilitation, and technical report-writing skills under tight deadlines.
