About the Role

Malaria Consortium is seeking a dedicated and experienced Research Coordinator to provide technical oversight and day-to-day coordination for the DISBURMA Study (Disaggregating the Burden of Severe Malaria in Paediatric Populations in Nigeria). In this vital role, you will oversee data extraction, ensure rigorous quality assurance, train research assistants, and manage stakeholder engagement across 18 health facilities in Nigeria. Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day-to-day study implementation, monitoring progress and ensuring adherence to research protocols.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor research assistants on identifying severe malaria cases from medical records and electronic data capture (EDC) platforms like SurveyCTO.
  • Screen, validate, and manage incoming study data to guarantee high standards of data quality assurance.
  • Conduct robust data analysis and generate comprehensive activity, monitoring, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate closely with government institutions, health facility management, and internal public health teams.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in health sciences, public health, social sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in health research, epidemiology, or project coordination.
  • Demonstrated expertise in utilizing electronic data capture platforms and managing hospital-based health data systems.
  • Familiarity with secondary, tertiary, and private hospital management systems in Nigeria.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Prior training in health research ethics is highly desirable.
