About the Role

Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a research and policy nonprofit that discovers and promotes effective solutions to global poverty problems. We are currently seeking a dedicated and analytical Research Associate to join our Nigeria Country Office. In this role, you will lead day-to-day research activities, manage data collection, supervise field staff, and ensure rigorous adherence to research protocols while driving evidence-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program survey instruments in SurveyCTO and implement robust data quality checks.
  • Supervise project field staff including field managers, supervisors, and enumerators.
  • Manage project finances, budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Serve as the key liaison between Principal Investigators, research partners, and field teams.
  • Design training materials and lead enumerator training and pilot testing sessions.
  • Prepare high-quality progress reports, preliminary data analysis, and dissemination materials.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Social Science, or a related field; graduate degree is strongly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in economic research, impact evaluations, or international development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Stata and experience with SurveyCTO.
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection, randomized control trials, and field management.
  • Strong professional writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Fluency in English with an entrepreneurial mindset and passion for poverty reduction.
