About the Role
Slum and Rural Health Initiative is a dynamic, multidisciplinary nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to healthcare information and services across Africa. Since 2017, we have leveraged advocacy, research, and technology to transform healthcare delivery in vulnerable communities within Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia. We are currently seeking passionate and detail-oriented Research Assistants to join our growing Abuja office and contribute to impactful public health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of qualitative and quantitative research projects.
- Conduct literature reviews, data collection, and field interviews within target communities.
- Perform data entry, transcription, and preliminary analysis using relevant research software.
- Draft reports, summaries, and presentations based on research findings.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to research ethics and timelines.
- Support community engagement and advocacy activities as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in field research, data collection, and community engagement.
- Strong analytical, writing, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in data collection tools and statistical software is an added advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and navigate diverse community settings.
- Residency in Abuja with a strong familiarity with local terrain and community dynamics.
