About the Role
SNV is an international development organization committed to poverty alleviation and sustainable development. We are currently offering an exciting 12-month internship placement for a Research Assistant based in Abuja, Nigeria. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in research, data analysis, and programme implementation across our dynamic portfolios in agriculture, renewable energy, and water sectors, directly reporting to the Country Director.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct desk and field research on agriculture, agribusiness, renewable energy, and climate-related issues relevant to SNV programmes.
- Support programme teams with data collection, analysis, interpretation, and stakeholder mapping.
- Prepare concise research briefs, literature reviews, presentations, factsheets, and technical documentation.
- Contribute to the preparation of project reports, concept notes, proposals, and knowledge management documentation.
- Organise and maintain research databases, reference materials, and project information systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Must be a current NYSC member with valid deployment to Abuja, or a graduate with a maximum of 1 year of post-NYSC work experience.
- Strong analytical thinking, research, writing, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment with a proactive mindset.
- Gain invaluable practical experience and mentorship within a reputable international development organization.
- Develop proficiency in programme implementation, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.
- Contribute to impactful, sustainable development initiatives in Nigeria.
