About the Role

UNILAG 103.1 FM, the official and pioneering campus radio station of the University of Lagos operating under the slogan 'Expanding the Frontiers of Knowledge', is seeking dynamic and passionate Reporters to join our vibrant broadcast team. As a reporter with Nigeria's first live-broadcasting university radio station, you will play a crucial role in delivering timely, accurate, and compelling news content to our diverse listeners across Lagos and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, investigate, and break news stories relevant to the university community and the general public.
  • Conduct interviews with students, faculty members, industry experts, and public figures.
  • Write clear, concise, and engaging scripts for radio broadcasts and digital platforms.
  • Report live from event scenes and provide updates during news bulletins and programs.
  • Collaborate with producers and editors to pitch creative story ideas and coverage plans.
  • Ensure all reported content adheres to broadcasting standards, journalistic ethics, and station guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Bachelor's Degree, or Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in broadcast journalism, reporting, or digital media content creation.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with a confident on-air voice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced media environment.
  • Familiarity with digital audio editing software and social media management is an added advantage.
