About the Role
Vale Finance Limited is a dynamic, full-service financial institution dedicated to empowering businesses and individuals across Nigeria through bespoke financial solutions. We are currently looking for a results-driven and analytical Senior Credit Risk Analyst to join our expanding risk management team. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our financial assets while driving our credit portfolio growth, with specific experience managing single obligor limits ranging between NGN 100 million and NGN 500 million.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate the creditworthiness of loan applicants by meticulously analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and cash flow data to determine precise risk levels.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and recommend appropriate credit limits, terms, and conditions for loan approvals.
- Monitor existing loan portfolios to identify potential risks, emerging trends, and adverse developments, developing proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate closely with underwriting, collections, and compliance teams to ensure strict adherence to credit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present comprehensive credit risk reports, analyses, and actionable recommendations to senior management and the credit committee.
- Stay abreast of macroeconomic trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in credit risk management within the Nigerian financial sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACIB, CFA, PRM) are an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of cognate experience in credit risk analysis and loan underwriting within a reputable Nigerian financial institution.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience handling single obligor limits between NGN 100m and NGN 500m.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory guidelines, financial statement analysis, and portfolio risk management.
