About the Role
Mantrac Nigeria Ltd, the authorized dealer representative for Caterpillar, SEM, and Perkins products, is looking for a dedicated Rental Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. In this field-based role, you will play a critical part in ensuring our clients' heavy-duty machinery and generator sets operate at peak productivity by delivering expert electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair services.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical faults on Caterpillar gas and diesel engines, generator sets, and specialized machine systems.
- Conduct equipment load testing, pre-delivery inspections (PDS), and commissioning of new Caterpillar units while completing necessary documentation.
- Read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and specifications to execute electrical installations, cable sizing, and battery charging tasks.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to evaluate component performance and prepare accurate service reports and single-line diagrams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with site operators and internal teams to ensure timely job delivery and reduced equipment downtime.
- Maintain proper care and accountability for all assigned company assets, including specialized tools, test equipment, and service vehicles.
- HND or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional field experience working with heavy-duty electrical systems or Caterpillar power solutions.
- Strong working knowledge of Caterpillar electrics, schematics, and diagnostic procedures.
- Possession of a valid professional driving license and proven safe driving skills.
