About the Role
St Dominic Catholic Hospital is inviting applications from highly experienced, compassionate, and professionally competent Registered Nurses with up to five years of post-qualification clinical experience to join our dedicated healthcare team. As a 64-bed faith-based primary and secondary medical facility, we strictly foster, promote, and practice Catholic and medical ethics alongside evidence-based medicine. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care, ensuring clinical excellence, and upholding our core institutional values.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to patients in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor clinical conditions, and develop appropriate nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and promptly report significant changes to the appropriate clinician.
- Assist physicians during medical procedures, emergencies, and routine ward rounds.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely nursing documentation and patient records.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, medications, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations while maintaining patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) practicing license.
- Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of post-qualification clinical experience in a reputable hospital setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is desirable, and Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) certification is an advantage.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
