About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Security Advisor (RSA) to join our team in the South East region of Nigeria to support our mission by ensuring robust safety and security frameworks are effectively implemented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time updates on regional threat levels, conduct comprehensive risk assessments, and ensure operational standard operating procedures align with MSI safety standards.
  • Manage physical security measures across all regional and state offices, including perimeter security, safe rooms, alarm systems, asset protection, and fire safety protocols.
  • Oversee procedural security by maintaining strict access controls, visitor protocols, key management, and professional oversight of security personnel.
  • Implement travel security protocols, monitor red zones, manage travel authorizations, and maintain contextual awareness networks within the assigned duty station.
  • Liaise effectively with local government security agencies and community networks to gather critical intelligence and ensure proactive incident mitigation.
  • Develop and maintain robust medical and security evacuation plans, ensuring clear communication channels, collection points, and designated routes.
  • Conduct thorough security briefings, debriefings, and incident investigations, submitting timely reports to the Line Manager and Security and Risk Advisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant professional certification in security management, criminology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of several years of practical experience in security assessment, planning, and implementation within the NGO sector or a relevant complex environment.
  • Prior service experience in the military, police, or recognized security services in Nigeria.
  • Proven expertise in security management, staff training, crisis response, and handling severe incidents in security-challenged areas.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills with the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
