About the Role
Sun King is the world's leading off-grid solar energy provider, bringing reliable electricity to over 82 million homes across Africa and Asia. We are currently looking for a passionate, highly logical, and results-driven Regional Collections Manager to join our Risk department in Osogbo, Osun State. In this vital role, you will lead field collection processes, improve customer payment behaviours, and ensure our PAYG solar solutions remain accessible and sustainable for rural communities.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze regional portfolio and repayment trends to establish daily, weekly, and monthly debt recovery strategies for delinquent accounts.
- Conduct mystery market visits and field inspections to evaluate sales quality, mitigate product tampering, and gather actionable customer insights.
- Collaborate with Area Business Managers and Field Sales Executives to execute product repossessions and resolve escalated credit issues.
- Design, pilot, and operationalize innovative collection processes that simultaneously drive repayment rates and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Train and mentor field agents on effective repossession protocols, difficult customer negotiations, and fraud prevention measures.
- Recruit and establish cash collection centres while providing regular performance reports to zonal credit leadership.
- Bachelor's degree or Higher Diploma in Finance, Community Development, Communication, Credit Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in credit collections, debt recovery, or risk management, preferably within microfinance, fintech, or banking.
- Demonstrated field experience working with rural customer settlements and managing diverse sales teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving, logical reasoning, and interpersonal communication skills with fluency in English and local territorial languages.
