About the Role
Sun King is the world's leading off-grid solar energy company, providing reliable power to over 82 million customers across Africa and Asia. We are currently looking for a passionate, well-organized, and highly logical Regional Collections Manager to join our Risk department in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will drive debt recovery, optimize repayment rates for our Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) solar products, and enhance customer satisfaction in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze regional portfolio and repayment trends to develop daily, weekly, and monthly debt collection strategies.
- Conduct mystery market visits and field assessments to evaluate sales quality and mitigate issues related to product tampering and defaults.
- Collaborate with Area Business Managers and Field Sales Executives to manage difficult customer collections and execute product repossessions.
- Design, pilot, and operationalize innovative collection processes that improve recovery rates and boost customer retention.
- Train field agents on effective debt collection techniques, conflict resolution, and compliance procedures.
- Recruit and establish strategic cash collection centers across key areas within the assigned territory.
- Bachelor's degree or Higher Diploma in Finance, Community Development, Communication, Credit Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in credit collections, debt recovery, or risk management, preferably within the microfinance, fintech, or banking sectors.
- Demonstrated field experience working directly with rural or off-grid customer segments.
- Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English and the primary local language of the assigned Savannah territory.
