About the Role
Sun King is the world's leading off-grid solar energy company, providing reliable power to over 82 million customers across Africa and Asia. We are currently looking for a passionate, organized, and results-driven Regional Collections Manager to join our Risk department in Delta State. In this critical field-based role, you will lead regional collection strategies, manage portfolio repayment trends, and ensure sustainable financial operations while championing exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze regional portfolio and repayment trends to develop daily, weekly, and monthly debt recovery strategies for delinquent PAYG customers.
- Conduct mystery market visits to evaluate sales quality, mitigate disabled lamps, and gather actionable on-field insights.
- Collaborate with Area Business Managers and Field Sales Executives to execute product repossessions when direct intervention is required.
- Design, pilot, and operationalize robust collection processes to boost repayment rates and customer satisfaction.
- Train Field Sales Executives on managing difficult customer collections, overdue follow-ups, and repossession protocols.
- Monitor and report cases of product tampering, fraud, and misinformed sales in alignment with company risk policies.
- Recruit and establish strategic cash collection centers across key operational areas within the assigned territory.
- Provide regular updates and reports to zonal credit analysts regarding on-field interventions and results achieved.
- Bachelor Degree or Higher Diploma in Finance, Community Development, Communication, Credit Risk Management, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in credit collections, debt recovery, or field operations, preferably within microfinance, fintech, or banking.
- Strong familiarity with the Delta State territory and local customer dynamics.
- Exceptional problem-solving, logical thinking, and multitasking abilities.
- Clear and effective communication skills with fluency in English and the local language of the assigned territory.
