About the Role
PalmPay is rapidly expanding its innovative digital financial ecosystem, delivering exceptional value and seamless payment experiences to millions of customers across Nigeria. We are currently looking for a dynamic and analytical Reconciliation and Settlement Specialist to join our CFM department at our Opebi, Lagos office. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding our financial operations by ensuring accurate daily reconciliations, monitoring payment settlements, and resolving discrepancies within strict SLAs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily reconciliation of assigned transaction channels, including dealer settlements and wallet funding activities.
- Validate reconciliation results, identify discrepancies, and ensure all exceptions are investigated and resolved promptly.
- Monitor transaction flows and follow up with relevant channels and partners to resolve outstanding issues.
- Process and monitor transaction settlements in line with agreed SLAs and internal compliance standards.
- Ensure settlement credits and debits are accurately processed for collections, disbursements, and cash-in/cash-out operations.
- Prepare, validate, and upload accurate settlement and wallet funding reports through designated platforms.
- Investigate transaction discrepancies and coordinate with internal teams and external partners for timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate reconciliation and settlement records to support internal controls, reporting, and audit requirements.
- Monitor transactions to identify potential revenue leakage and actively support revenue assurance initiatives.
- Escalate unresolved exceptions and material financial discrepancies to appropriate stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in reconciliation, settlement, financial operations, or the payments industry.
- Strong expertise in transaction reconciliation, payment flows, and digital financial services operations.
- Exceptional analytical skills, numerical accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting or reconciliation tools.
- Strong communication, partner management, and problem-solving abilities.
