About the Role
Medplus Ltd, Nigeria's premier healthcare and retail pharmacy chain, is looking for an experienced and dedicated Internal Auditor to join our growing team in Lagos. In this vital full-time, on-site role, you will play a key part in safeguarding our financial integrity by evaluating internal controls, managing risks, and ensuring governance processes align with our high standards of professionalism and innovation.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute comprehensive financial and operational audits across various retail and wholesale branches.
- Review compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
- Analyze financial data and transactions to identify operational inefficiencies, revenue leakages, or financial irregularities.
- Prepare clear, objective, and timely audit reports detailing findings, risks, and actionable recommendations for management.
- Follow up on the implementation of agreed-upon action plans and collaborate with finance and operations teams to strengthen internal controls.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support executive decision-making with accurate, data-driven audit insights.
- Maintain strict confidentiality, professional skepticism, and high ethical standards in all auditing engagements.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business discipline.
- Professional certifications such as ICAN, ACA, or ACCA are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven experience in internal auditing, external auditing, or financial control.
- Prior working experience or deep familiarity with the retail, healthcare, or pharmaceutical sectors is a distinct advantage.
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis, Microsoft Excel, and modern accounting or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail and a high level of integrity.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement and report presentation.
