About the Role
The Federal University Otuoke (FUO) is a prestigious federal institution located in the heart of the Niger-Delta Region of Bayelsa State, committed to academic excellence and groundbreaking research. We are currently inviting suitably qualified and experienced academics to fill the position of Reader in Water Management within our expanding Faculty of Environmental Sciences. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to curriculum development, mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students, and drive impactful research in sustainable water resources management.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality teaching, tutorials, and practical sessions in Water Management and related environmental disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Initiate, develop, and independently supervise research projects for students.
- Contribute significantly to departmental academic administration and curriculum enhancement.
- Publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate actively in faculty meetings, university committees, and community engagement initiatives.
- Must possess a good Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Water Management or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- Demonstrate a robust history of teaching and research experience in an approved tertiary institution.
- Maintain a strong portfolio of scholarly publications in reputable journals.
- Show a demonstrable ability to attract research grants and lead academic teams.
- Comply with all requirements specified in the Federal University Otuoke Rules and Regulations Governing Conditions of Service of Senior Staff.
