About the Role
The Federal University Otuoke (FUO), located in the oil-rich Niger-Delta region of Bayelsa State, is seeking a qualified and dedicated academic for the position of Reader in Survey and Geo-Informatics with a GIS option. We are committed to academic excellence, innovative research, and providing a conducive environment for scholarly growth within our Faculty of Environmental Sciences.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Survey and Geo-Informatics with a strong focus on GIS.
- Initiate, develop, and independently supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects.
- Publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and university committee services.
- Mentor junior academic staff and students to foster a culture of academic rigor and professional integrity.
- Possession of a good B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Surveying, Geo-Informatics, GIS, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- Demonstrated years of teaching and research experience in an approved tertiary institution as specified by university guidelines.
