About the Role

Fountain University, established by the Nasrul-Lahi-Il-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the position of Reader in Microbiology. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Microbiology and related biological sciences.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects and dissertations.
  • Conduct cutting-edge, high-impact research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement of the Department of Microbiology.
  • Provide academic counseling and mentorship to students to foster moral and ethical development.
  • Participate actively in departmental, college, and university committees, as well as community service initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a PhD in Microbiology or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of post-PhD academic teaching and research experience in a university.
  • Must have served as a Senior Lecturer for at least two (2) years prior to this application.
  • A strong portfolio of at least twenty (20) scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor students and attract research grants is an added advantage.
