About the Role
Aldelia Limited is currently recruiting a skilled Radio & Radar Operator for a Joint Venture Offshore position in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the radar and radio systems on the FPSO, monitoring maritime traffic, and coordinating vital helicopter landing operations to ensure safety and compliance in a dynamic offshore environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, maintain, and monitor radar, radio, and GMDSS equipment, ensuring accurate interpretation and recording of distress messages and maritime movements.
- Coordinate helicopter landing operations, act as the primary point of contact for inbound and outbound flights, and monitor the helideck weather station.
- Maintain comprehensive logs of vessel movements, radar contacts, charts, and marine publications around the FSO Unity, Odudu, Ofon, and Amenam fields.
- Generate daily reports detailing vessel dispositions, diversions from MIZ/MEZ, and security drills within the offshore facility.
- Monitor crew boats using onboard camera systems and manage the FPSO public address system (PAGA) as required.
- Ensure zero intrusion, adhere strictly to company security CMS and VPSHR provisions, and promptly report all HSE and security anomalies.
- University Degree or Polytechnic Certificate (BA, BSc, BTech, HND, or OND).
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in a similar offshore role; service record with the Nigerian Navy or Marine Police is a distinct advantage.
- Valid certifications including PFSO, GMDSS, ARPA / Radar, BOSIET, and Radio Telephony Training.
- Completed Meteorological Observers Training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and specialized security reporting tools.
- Ability to work effectively on a 28x28 rotational schedule covering afternoon and night shifts.
