About the Role
FMR Agency is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join the dynamic team of a leading construction materials company in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in upholding the highest standards of structural integrity by conducting rigorous laboratory and field tests on concrete and various construction materials. We are looking for a proactive professional who is committed to operational excellence, safety compliance, and precision in material testing.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct concrete slump tests to verify workability and ensure strict compliance with approved mix designs.
- Prepare, label, cure, and meticulously maintain concrete cube samples for compressive strength testing.
- Perform comprehensive compressive strength tests on concrete cubes and record all data accurately.
- Conduct aggregate sieve analysis and other essential material tests to meet industry benchmarks.
- Determine aggregate moisture content and coordinate results with the batching plant team for immediate mix adjustments.
- Maintain thorough laboratory and field testing records, including detailed test reports, cube registers, and quality logs.
- Monitor and upkeep curing tanks, testing equipment, and general laboratory facilities.
- Report failed tests, material non-conformities, and quality concerns promptly to management.
- Ensure all laboratory activities strictly comply with company quality procedures, testing standards, and HSE requirements.
- Assist in investigating quality issues and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Three to five years of proven experience in concrete quality control, laboratory testing, or construction materials testing.
- Prior working experience in a ready-mix concrete or construction materials laboratory will be a distinct advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and accurate record-keeping abilities.
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards in a construction environment.
