About the Role
FMR Agency is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician on behalf of a leading construction materials company in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that all construction materials and concrete mixes meet rigorous quality specifications, industry standards, and project requirements. You will work closely with the production and batching plant teams to maintain high standards of structural integrity and product excellence across all operations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct concrete slump tests to verify workability and compliance with approved mix designs.
- Prepare, label, cure, and maintain concrete cube samples for compressive strength testing.
- Perform compressive strength tests on concrete cubes and accurately record results.
- Conduct aggregate sieve analysis and other essential material tests.
- Determine aggregate moisture content and communicate results promptly to the batching plant team for mix adjustments.
- Maintain accurate laboratory and field testing records, including test reports, cube registers, and quality logs.
- Monitor and maintain curing tanks, testing equipment, and general laboratory facilities.
- Report failed tests, quality concerns, and material non-conformities immediately to management.
- Ensure all laboratory activities strictly comply with company quality procedures, testing standards, and HSE requirements.
- Assist in investigating quality issues and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- ND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience in concrete quality control, laboratory testing, or construction materials testing.
- Prior working experience in a ready-mix concrete or construction materials laboratory is a distinct advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and accurate record-keeping abilities.
