About the Role
WTS Energy is looking for an experienced Principal Pipeline Engineer to provide critical technical expertise and leadership for the high-profile HA and HB-Buko projects in Nigeria. These strategic developments aim to supply substantial gas to NLNG Train-7, alongside significant oil and condensate exports. You will oversee pipeline engineering activities across the entire project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to top-tier industry standards from conceptual design through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist subsea pipeline engineering expertise covering design codes, legislative requirements, and industry best practices.
- Manage detailed engineering tasks including wall thickness selection, on-bottom stability, thermal expansion, route optimization, and free-span analysis.
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior and graduate pipeline engineers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary project execution while aligning with defined budgets and delivery schedules.
- Contribute to cost estimation, technical specifications, procurement requisitions, and subcontractor bidding processes.
- Participate actively in project reviews, HAZID, and HAZOP to champion an inherently safe, zero-incident work culture.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Active membership in NSE and valid COREN certification.
- At least 14 years of relevant engineering experience within the oil and gas sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of international engineering standards, systems, and HSSE frameworks.
- Proven leadership, communication, and multi-disciplinary team management capabilities.
- Prior experience with offshore platforms, FPSOs, or onshore terminals is highly preferred.
