About the Role

Sagar Vitaceuticals Nigeria Limited, a leading name in the Nigerian healthcare industry known for trusted brands like Vitaclox and Vitacillin, is seeking a dedicated Quality Control Officer for our ultra-modern manufacturing facility in Ikeja, Lagos. In this role, you will play a critical part in safeguarding public health by ensuring that all raw materials, packaging components, and finished pharmaceutical products comply with stringent quality specifications and NAFDAC regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, inspect, and analyze active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), excipients, and packaging materials according to approved specifications.
  • Perform in-process and finished product testing, including weight variation, hardness, friability, disintegration, dissolution, assay, and pH.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain advanced laboratory equipment such as HPLC, UV-Visible spectrophotometers, and analytical balances.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Identify Out-of-Specification (OOS) results, participate in root-cause investigations, and assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support stability studies and adhere strictly to laboratory safety and waste disposal protocols.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong working knowledge of GMP, GLP, pharmacopoeial requirements, and NAFDAC regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical techniques and laboratory instruments, particularly HPLC and UV-Vis spectroscopy.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong documentation skills.
  • High level of integrity with the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) meticulously.
