About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Control Officer to join our dynamic production team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this vital manufacturing role, you will ensure that all raw materials, intermediate items, and finished plastic goods consistently meet rigorous quality standards and industry specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections and physical or mechanical tests on raw plastic materials, pre-forms, and finished products such as bottles, containers, and pipes.
- Monitor the active production line continuously to swiftly identify defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from established standard operating procedures.
- Ensure all quality testing equipment and precision measuring tools are accurately calibrated, maintained, and ready for use.
- Investigate root causes of product defects including warping, discoloration, and thickness variations, recommending effective corrective actions.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all quality tests, inspection outcomes, and non-conformance reports.
- Guarantee that all manufactured products comply with local and international regulatory standards for safety and plastic production.
- Collaborate closely with production supervisors and machine operators to drive quality improvement initiatives and reduce operational waste.
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or OND in Industrial Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 2 to 3 years of proven professional experience as a Quality Control Officer within a dedicated plastic manufacturing environment.
- Possess strong technical knowledge of plastic processing techniques like injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion.
- Exhibit exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and utilize precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain outstanding verbal and written communication skills for reporting findings clearly to management and factory staff.
