About the Role

Bell Oil & Gas is a leading independent, wholly-owned Nigerian oil services company delivering high-quality products and solutions to the energy sector. We are currently looking for a meticulous and driven Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) Officer to join our Valve Assembly Plant. In this critical role, you will inspect raw materials, oversee rigorous product testing, and ensure that all manufactured valves strictly adhere to internal control standards and international specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select random valve samples and conduct thorough inspections using specialized gauges, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Witness and verify hydrostatic, pneumatic, and seat leakage tests to ensure compliance.
  • Identify, document, and sort product defects, facilitating necessary repairs or rejections.
  • Drive the QA/QC process for the successful actualization of API 6D certification.
  • Collaborate with Plant and Engineering managers to investigate the root causes of recurring manufacturing defects.
  • Maintain comprehensive inspection records, compute defect rates, and prepare detailed reports for management.
  • Support internal and external audits while acting as a valve storekeeper and equipment logger when required.
  • Champion process improvements to guarantee consistent product quality across the production lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum Engineering, Physics, Geology, IT, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of QA/QC experience within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Mandatory hands-on experience working in a Valve Assembly Plant.
  • Certifications such as ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, HSE Levels 1–3, ASNT Level II (VT/PT/MT), and Coating Inspection (AMPP/NACE Level 1) are distinct advantages.
  • Sound working knowledge of ASME, API 510, API 570, and API 598 standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and safety consciousness.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical diagrams, and complex instructions.
