About the Role

Cedarcrest Hospitals, a leading multi-specialist medical center in Abuja, Nigeria, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our procurement team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining our high standards of healthcare delivery by efficiently managing the acquisition of medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and general hospital supplies. You will work closely with various departments to ensure timely delivery, optimal inventory levels, and cost-effective purchasing strategies that align with our institutional goals of excellence and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with reliable vendors and suppliers for medical and non-medical supplies.
  • Manage purchase orders, requisition processing, and delivery tracking to ensure stock availability across all hospital departments.
  • Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality of goods and services.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, inventory reports, and vendor performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the finance and store departments to reconcile invoices, resolve discrepancies, and manage stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and ethical procurement practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within the healthcare or hospital sector.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
