Key Responsibilities- Assist the head chef and line cooks with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting ingredients.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work station, including refrigerators, storage areas, and cooking surfaces.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and cutlery thoroughly and ensure they are properly stored for the next shift.
- Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and adhere to strict sanitation and health regulations.
- Receive, inspect, and properly store food deliveries and supplies in designated areas.
- Support kitchen staff with inventory checks and stock rotation as required.
- Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen, hotel, or restaurant setting is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of basic food hygiene, safety practices, and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy kitchen supplies.
