About the Role
Lead British International School (LBIS), one of Nigeria's premier co-educational institutions, is looking for a passionate and dedicated Public Speaking and Elocution Teacher for our Ibadan campus. In this full-time, on-site role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping confident, articulate learners who excel in both academic and social settings.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver engaging lessons that enhance speaking clarity, pronunciation, confidence, and presentation skills across Early Years, Primary, and Secondary sections.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans and organize interactive practice activities such as debates, speeches, and theatrical performances.
- Assess learner progress through continuous formal and informal evaluations while providing constructive feedback and coaching.
- Collaborate with academic colleagues to seamlessly integrate public speaking and elocution into broader school curricula, programs, and cultural events.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and development.
- Support and mentor students participating in school clubs, external competitions, and leadership initiatives.
- Proven experience in teaching, training, or facilitating public speaking, elocution, and communication-focused classes.
- Strong background in lesson planning with the ability to design structured, age-appropriate curricula and learning materials.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, including impeccable spoken English and active listening.
- Relevant academic qualifications in Education, English Language, Theatre Arts, Communications, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents within a structured school or training environment.
- Familiarity with the British Curriculum or international educational standards is an added advantage.
- Strong classroom management, organizational skills, and a collaborative spirit when working with colleagues and parents.
