About the Role

Medicaid Cancer Foundation (MCF) invites passionate and dedicated Public Health Practitioners to volunteer for our upcoming WalkAway Cancer Awareness Walk. Founded in 2014, MCF was established to create a robust support system for cancer patients, families, and caregivers who face immense emotional and financial challenges during diagnosis and treatment. By joining our team, you will play a vital role in executing impactful public health campaigns, educating communities, and bridging the gap in cancer care advocacy across Nigeria. We are looking for energetic change-makers ready to dedicate their time and expertise to a cause that saves lives and inspires hope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing the WalkAway Cancer Awareness Walk and related community outreach events.
  • Educate the public on cancer prevention, early detection signs, and available support systems.
  • Engage with community members, patients, and caregivers to provide empathetic guidance and distribute informative health materials.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and volunteers to manage on-ground logistics during public health campaigns.
  • Collect relevant data and feedback during outreaches to help measure the impact of community awareness programs.
Qualifications
  • Degree or ongoing studies in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong passion for community service, health advocacy, and non-profit work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Prior volunteering or community mobilization experience in Nigeria is an added advantage.
