About the Role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading humanitarian organization providing direct assistance and advocating for conflict-affected populations globally. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Protection Coordinator to shape our strategic protection interventions in Nigeria, addressing displacement root causes and enhancing assistance in hard-to-reach areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the formulation and implementation of the DRC Nigeria protection technical strategy, ensuring integration across sectors.
  • Provide expert technical advisory to implementation and country office teams on program design, proposal writing, and quality reporting.
  • Represent DRC proactively in national and area-level Protection Clusters, working groups, and high-level stakeholder engagements.
  • Drive sector-specific fundraising efforts, forge viable partnerships, and develop advocacy materials to promote protection awareness.
  • Build the capacity of national staff and local partners through structured training, SOP development, and best-practice sharing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in International Law, Political Science, Social Work, Human Rights, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional protection experience, with at least 3 years in a senior technical advisory role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in protection monitoring, case management, PSS, GBV response, and humanitarian architecture in Nigeria or similar contexts.
  • Proven track record in successful proposal development, donor reporting, and external cluster representation.
  • Full professional fluency in English with exceptional writing and analytical skills.
