About the Role
The Center for Humanitarian Impact and Development (C-HID) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Protection Assistant to support our vital humanitarian and community development interventions. In this field-based role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding vulnerable populations, promoting inclusion, and strengthening community resilience across our operational areas in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Support protection activities at the community and field level to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable populations.
- Conduct community-level awareness sessions and sensitization on protection, safeguarding, PSEA, inclusion, and available support services.
- Identify critical protection concerns and facilitate safe, timely, and appropriate referrals for affected individuals.
- Support comprehensive protection monitoring, accurate data collection, and detailed field documentation.
- Promote the active inclusion and meaningful participation of vulnerable and at-risk groups in all project activities.
- Support community-based complaints and feedback mechanisms while strictly maintaining confidentiality and data privacy.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in protection, safeguarding, PSEA, or humanitarian response is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
- Unwavering commitment to humanitarian principles, accountability, inclusion, and respect for affected communities.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work effectively in challenging field environments.
- High standards of integrity, professionalism, and strict compliance with organizational codes of conduct and anti-corruption policies.
- Local knowledge of Gujba and/or Buni Yadi will be considered a distinct advantage.
