About the Role
Nautilus Nigeria Engineering and Construction Limited (NNEC) is a global leader in providing comprehensive engineering, project support services, and technical manpower to the oil and gas industry. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Start-Up Specialist II to join our elite project team. In this pivotal role, you will focus on the field execution of start-up activities across various disciplines including Rotating Machinery, Electrical, Process, DCS, and Instrumentation, ensuring that all operational milestones are met with precision and safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Start-Up Specialist II, you will collaborate closely with project teams, affiliate operations, and contractors to drive seamless project execution. Your core duties will include:
- Collaborating with the Start-Up Coordinator and Start-Up Manager to ensure operational excellence and incident-free expectations are met.
- Supporting the development and execution of comprehensive project start-up plans and downstream procedures.
- Providing unit-specific expertise during planning phases and offering critical support to production coordinators during active start-up.
- Acting as the primary focal point for interfacing with Operations, Integrated Commissioning, and Facility Engineering Teams.
- Managing operational risks and ensuring strict adherence to project priorities regarding safety, quality, and schedules.
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following professional requirements:
- Previous hands-on experience in a closely related start-up, commissioning, or oil and gas engineering position.
- Discipline-appropriate professional certification(s) or equivalent demonstrated industry experience.
- Proficiency in Work Management Systems and Microsoft Office suite software programs.
- Working knowledge of Project Completions activities and typical commissioning practices, including Systems Completion Database software such as WinPCS, MC+, CoConsole, or Orbit.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly describe field conditions and recommend effective remediation steps.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams, adapt to tight deadlines, handle heavy workloads, and manage shifting priorities.
