About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Performance - Cost & Budget Lead to join IOTA Group Nigeria, a division of our Swiss-based international HR and project management solutions firm. As a trusted partner to clients in the energy, industry, and infrastructure sectors, we deliver customized HR services, consultancy, and on-ground support. In this pivotal role, you will oversee project financial performance, manage cost control systems, and lead portfolio-wide budgeting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Build and optimize project management systems supporting Cost Management System (CMS) and Portfolio Project Management (PPM) through standardized templates, forms, and procedures aligned with headquarters guidelines
- Manage cost reporting teams to consolidate project reports, coordinate budgeting activities, and facilitate timely payments across the portfolio
- Monitor implementation of cost control procedures, SAP tools (UNISUP & U-Cost), and ensure compliance with invoicing approval workflows and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
- Identify high-level portfolio risks including cost overruns, contingencies, and mitigation opportunities while providing economic support for contract variations
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Package Managers, and TEPNG Finance Department to resolve payment, invoicing, and cost control issues
- Prepare consolidated project budgets, monthly cost reports, and final cost estimates with comprehensive variance analysis and trend identification
- Gather and share lessons learned from Nigerian projects, providing regular feedback to contractors for continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent discipline
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in the oil and gas industry
- At least 5 years in a Cost & Budget Lead or equivalent senior cost control position
- Strong expertise in project financial management, SAP systems, and cost control procedures
- Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate across multiple stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills
