About the Role

SNV is an international development organization committed to building a world where no one lives in poverty and everyone has the opportunity to pursue sustainable development. We are currently seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead our Energy Project component in Nigeria. In this multifaceted role, you will oversee strategic planning, project execution, and resource management, ensuring that all objectives are met within scope, budget, timeline, and quality standards. You will report directly to the Country Director and collaborate closely with global and local technical teams to advance renewable energy access and business innovation in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead overall project management, including planning, implementation, financial management, monitoring, and donor reporting.
  • Ensure full compliance with SNV internal procedures, accounting principles, and donor regulations across administrative, financial, and HR components.
  • Provide technical leadership and quality assurance for project deliverables, focusing on renewable energy, clean cooking, and biodigesters.
  • Manage people and team leadership by guiding, coaching, and motivating multidisciplinary staff, consultants, and service providers.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external partners, donors, and stakeholders to enhance SNV visibility and drive business development.
  • Contribute to knowledge development, M&E processes, and the documentation of project insights and lessons learned.
Qualifications
  • Relevant Master's or Bachelor's degree in energy, engineering, environmental science, energy management, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in energy sector development, with deep knowledge of renewable energy and institutional stakeholder dynamics in Nigeria.
  • Demonstrated expertise in programme leadership, complex project management, monitoring and evaluation, and energy financing mechanisms.
  • Strong background in private sector engagement, SME support, and gender equality and social inclusion principles.
  • Excellent communication and strategic partnership skills with fluency in written and spoken English.
